i think its rediculous that there are going to be more soccer and football pitches, when we already have them! there should be a grass and astroturf hockey pitch for the Ellenbrook Falcons Hockey Club. its unfair that they have to travel all the way to joondalup just for a home game. this needs to be rethought through as in think about all of the sports clubs in ellenbrook and what they need. i am all for community sports but why add more soccer pitches for example when there is already the ones at woodlake and ESC. Hockey needs to be promoted and i know that not many people like hockey but this is the reason why, they have no way of seeing what it is really like because they are not going to travel all the way to joondalup to see it.

A public swimming pool (even if you dont see it as a "sporting facility" - clearly it is) would be much needed. I believe there are many small rural areas that do not have your 75,000 population that have swimming pool facilities for their communities and they are well used. The local schools (which there are quite a few) in the area could well benefit from a pool as part of their sports programs.

Hi Deb,
Thank you for your feedback.
Small rural areas are different as generally the next public swimming pool is 100km+ away therefore there are no alternatives.
I can advise that there has been some preliminary planning into a regional complex to be located at Whiteman Park. This preliminary planning indicates that a leisure centre (including pool) is likely to be located here along with some sporting fields. Unfortunately I am not able to provide an indication on a proposed timeline for the complex as we do not have one as yet.
Happy to discuss further.
Regards
