Much larger gym facilities. Similar to what Altone Park has would be great.

it would have a spa that was able ease the tensions on the neck and shouldetrs in a high pressure hydrotherapy spa that catered for an expanding population. it would include therapists such as bowen, physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage, personal trainers, nutritionist and a boot camp and maybe counsellors ans Psychologists.
now is the time to build a leisure cente of the future what there is suited the 70'S not the current era

A leisure centre which is vibrant and modern with a commitment to improving the health of the community and staffed by enthusiastic staff members who are supported by their employer.

Arena Joondalup is a good example of what could be done.

A 50m indoor pool suitable for lap swimmers and a 25m pool for walkers and leisure activities. A decent kids pool with slides, fountains sprays etc. Take a look on the net at the aquatic centre in East Launceston (Tas). They have an indoor playground with slides, sprays kids control with steering wheels and a giant bucket that dumps water intermittantly. It keeps kids of all ages entertained and interacting. An outdoor covered paddling/ kids pool with landscaped gardens, grass and bbqs. Facilities for gym, sports and creche. Sauna and spa.

One that focussed on holistic recreational activity: that featured a large gym facility, a range of recreational and "activity based" pools, picnicing facilites both indoors and out, a playground area that made it the envy of every other council, opportunities to learn something new and plenty of facilities to encourage community groups to band together.

It would have a gymnasium that has an intimate feel like the current gym, maybe with a series of rooms so you don't feel like lots of people are watching. It would have large windows with views not only to trees, but also to beautiful gardens, so that while you're exercising, you feel like you are outdoors. It has been proven that exercising while surrounded by natural beauty, ie in parks or gardens v's cityscape or indoors, has greater overall health benefits.
It would have a well-designed play/swim area designed so that parents can be right close to their smaller children while being able to keep an eye on the bigger ones as they line up for the water slides and play with other fun features. There would be plenty of water entertainment for all ages.
There would be barbecues in a lovely park area with a playgym so parents can cater their own family gatherings and children's parties.
There would also be facilities for helping people to hoist out of their wheelchairs and then into the water.

We like the location of the leisure centre. The only thing that might improve it is to put it closer to the rail link.
Definitely a 50m swimming pool, anyone that swims for fitness would agree. I tend to go to Bayswater waves if I want to swim laps as 25m is just not good enough. The ability to heat the childrens "Play/ swimming lessons" pool to a greater degree than it is now would be great. We really want to encourage our little swimmers to get in there and have fun.
Please heat the change rooms in winter - oh my God the current change rooms are freezing.
The other thing that I would change is the opening hours (more in line with what Bayswater is as well).
